As you can tell, I've been reading quite a bit recently. Well as I said earlier in my blog, I was going to try to read more books as a goal and other things. Obviously I've been keeping my word.
Now about the book Outliers. It was quite interesting to me, I loved how he gave examples for everything he talked about, which is to change the way we view success. I would tell all y'all to read it.
Whilst on the topic of goals. I have created the goal to learn 200 recipes, not necessarily remember them, because then I would probably quit, just learn. I did my first recipe on Friday! Potato Soup; here's the recipe below.
Potato Soup: (14 Cups)
3 T butter 2 t salt
2 leeks or green onions, chopped 1/2 t ground black pepper
1 1/2 C carrots, sliced 1 bay leaf
8 C boiling chicken broth or water 2 t dill weed
2 C light cream 1 1/2 C potatoes, diced
3/4 C flour > blend in blender w/ cream
In 4 quart pot melt 3 T butter, add leaks & carrots; sautè for 5 minutes. Add broth or water, dill, salt, pepper, bay leaf, and potatoes. Simmer, covered until potatoes are just tender, about 20 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Combine cream with flour until smooth. Cook and stir until hot and slightly thickened. Serve.
There you have it. Until next time
