Yesterday I went to Logan with my parents and sister. We were visiting my brother and sister-in-law and their son. It was so much fun to see them and spend a lot of the day with them, because we normally are not able to.
What was that recipe I talked about on the last post? Homemade Cookie Dough Ice Cream!
Here is the recipe you should follow:
Tony's Supreme Ice Cream (note, it is for vanilla ice cream)
4 eggs 2 C sugar
1 sachet Bird's dessert mix 2 cans of evaporated milk
2 t pure vanilla 1 pint heavy cream
5 C whole milk
In blender, blend sugar, eggs, dessert mix, vanilla & evaporated milk. Pour mixture into 6 quart ice cream can. Add cream to mixture in can. Use some of the whole milk to rinse blender, then add that and rest of milk to mixture in can. Use dasher to mix all ingredients in can. Freeze according to freezer directions. For firmer ice cream; after freezer stops, keeping can in ice and water, remove dasher from can, and recover can. Make sure no salt water gets into can. Add more ice on top of can and let sit for an hour or more. Serve with favorite ice cream toppings. Substitute as much as 2 C fresh pureed fruit (sweetened to taste) for same amount of milk to flavor of ice cream.
Now I know that in that recipe, no where does it talk about cookie dough adding, but I'll tell you here. So you have made your cookie dough, now you will take a good scoop or two and flatten it out on a pan, or cutting board. As seen in the picture below.
Freeze for an hour or so, then take it out of the freezer and cut the cookie dough in small squares like so:
Now back to the ice cream part. Once your ice cream is almost done, but not quite, you will add in the frozen cookie dough. This will be about a minute or so before the ice cream is done altogether.
The after affect is wonderfully delicious!
And there you have it, homemade cookie dough ice cream!
Hope you will have a wonderful weekend!
