Counting Stars

Source: Tempuros
Today I finished reading Counting Stars by Michele Paige Holmes. It is a wonderful book, and it is written by a woman who is LDS, and thus the book has religious aspects to it. What I probably loved the most, was this is a book where I have felt my testimony so strongly, and that a fictional character can have such a strong testimony as well. It simply put, amazed me. This is a book I would recommend to anyone surrounding me. The other reason I think I enjoyed it, is because Constellations and Astrology is somewhat a big part of it. Recently I have really loved the idea of learning astrology, and I absolutely love stars and constellations, they are beautiful.

Recently the gospel has been on my mind quite a bit. Which is a good thing, because I really love thinking about my religion, and everything about it. I love being LDS, and all the blessings that I have in store, I also love that I am constantly growing and learning, whether more about my gospel, or from my mistakes, I always have room to grow, that I have a chance to be the best me, and that it won't be too late. I love that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and understands everything about me, better than me. I love that I have Jesus Christ as my brother and Savior, that he atoned for me, that he knows better than anyone else what I go through and how I feel. Without the gospel I really have no idea where I would be or what I would be doing, without it my life would be a mess and incomplete.

Christmas has also been on my mind. I'm excited, as I usually am this time of year, for the holiday. I love Christmas and Christmas music. I love listening to the classic voices of Burl Ives and Bing Crosby and the like. I love smelling Pine as my family hunts for the perfect, real Christmas tree. I love that on Christmas Eve and Christmas, it usually snows, and when it does it's perfect. This year I hope that I can achieve something of what Christmas is about. I want to serve this Christmas, bless someones life, help spread the Christmas cheer, put a smile on someones face. I don't know, it just seems that that would something I should and want to do this year.

With love,
Mercedes
