So since it's been a wee bit since your girl here has updated you on what I've been reading and cooking. Today's the day that that all gets sorted. It also seems to be the day that I don't talk like a normal person, so go me.
BOOKS
Voracious: A Hungry Reader Cooks Her Way Through Great Books by Cara Nicoletti. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It gave me new recipes that I hope to try out someday, but also some new books to add to the list. I recommend it, it's the new, unconventional cookbook!
Worn Stories by Emily Spivack. To be honest, I totally skimmed this. It's really just a book about people's favorite items of clothing, and why those items hold a special place in their hearts. Interesting but definitely not a must.
Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry. A cute little picture book, but not my favorite to be honest.
Stories in the Stars: An Atlas of Constellations by Susanna Hislop. I really enjoyed this, and hope to own it. It's fun because you learn about constellations and their stories, but also if you go camping or on a road trip, you can use it to help find the constellations at night with friends. Please read this one.
Audrey At Home: A Kitchen Table Biography by Lucca Dotti. Now, to no one's surprise I read this because it's a book about Audrey Hepburn, but also it's written by her second son, which means it's a more truthful account about who she was. For those reasons, I loved it.
The Peculiar Life of a Lonely Postman by Denis Thériault. This was a very odd book, but what redeemed it was the fact that it was written mostly in haiku. It is short, so if you're intrigued totally read it.
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Really this is a TED Talk turned into a small book, however, everyone should read it. Because it is just so enlightening, interesting, and wonderful.
Styled by Emily Henderson. In the realm of interior design books, I felt "eh" about it. Definitely not the best.
Congratulations By The Way by George Saunders. This book is a graduation address turned book. Also fantastic. Also worth it, totally worth it.
The Season of Migration by Nellie Hermann. A little slow, but honestly pretty interesting. A glimpse into Vincent Van Gogh's life. Either you'll learn to love him, pity him, or despise him...maybe?
Gummi Bears Should Not Be Organic by Stephanie Wilder-Taylor. I discovered this is a book best suited for you if you're a mother, but it's actually really fun to read. There are bits of language throughout just soes ya know.
Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. It's interesting to me, that people feel comfortable writing to an anonymous source, spilling all their secrets. I read some, skimmed some of the rest.
Find Your Happy by M.H. Clark. Super easy to read. It's like an adult picture book, and by that, I mean just inspirational words with pretty pictures to look at. So if you're into that sort of thing, read this book.
Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher. I enjoyed this book because it's an autobiography and those books give me life. Carrie Fisher is probably the best-suited celebrity to write a book because she's a really good author, unlike other celebrities.
Morbid Curiosity by Alan W. Petrucelli. I found this delightfully interesting. Mainly because I'm interested in the infamous, and also oddly, their deaths. So if you're one who's interested in anything but your own business, take a look.
How To Hug A Porcupine by Debbie Ellis. I came about this book because it was given to my sister. If you need to fix your relationships with people, read this book. If not, go right ahead and skip it.
Do Beekeeping by Orren Fox. Beekeeping and its secrets. If you're not into that sort of thing, skip it.
Do Grow by Alice Holden. If you want to have your own garden of vegetables when you're older, then go right ahead and read it!
Painting Peppette by Linda Ravin Lodding. This is soo cute!!! It also mentions some popular artists, and I love it.
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I wish I had read this book when I was a little girl, it would have been that much more special to me. Truly, read it, it will change your life.
The Little Prince: The Art of the Movie by Ramin Zahed. How the Little Prince became the beautiful movie that it is.
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I finally got around to reading it! Not my favorite, but I consider it a must if you are into reading classics.
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. I love this story, it's so well written and so fun. I'm so happy to say that the movie did it justice, they are truly identical.
Make It Happen by Lara Casey. Goals is what this is about. Self-help. Nothing new.
The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis. I really like this book and hope to read more of his books.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondō. If you have a mother like mine, you have no need for this book, because you will have taught basically everything in this book. Thank your mother, and give yourself a pat on the back.
A Woman's Guide to the Wild by Ruby McConell. I want to buy this because it is so handy to the camping, adventurous woman. Also handy to have if you AREN'T the greatest outdoors. Useful for every woman I know.
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I again wish I had read this when I was younger because it is so well written! Please read it.
Asking For It by Kate Harding. I wanted to know more about rape culture, and this book does a good job of answering my questions. It is, however, hard to read, and it does have a lot of language in it.
Feminist Fight Club by Jessica Bennett. I enjoyed this book and it taught me more about feminism. I also think what makes it a successful book, is that it gave me wanting to know even more about feminism.
Cravings by Chrissy Teigen. A fun and what looks to be delicious, cookbook!
The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. If you forget how to phrase sentences correctly and the like, like me, buy this book and study up.
Red by John Logan. This is actually a short play, a playwright? It's about Mark Rothko, and I've never wanted to see a play more.
Louise and Andie: The Art of Friendship. A cute book about blooming young artists.
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Another book I wish I had read when I was younger, however, this is different, but in a good way, than the movie.
Painting Kisses by Melanie Jacobson. I love this authors books, and this just added to my love. Give me books related to art and I'm yours.
Adulting: How to Become A Grown-Up in 468 Easy(ish) Steps by Kelly Williams Brown. A self-help book I can get behind because it is so relative to my age group.
RECIPES
Mom's Creamy Mashed Potatoes. So so so good. Best around if you ask me.
Coconut Curry Chicken. Healthy and Delicious, what more could you want?
Chocolate Old Fashioned Doughnuts. These had the chance to be delicious, but boy did I mess up. I could try again, but I'm still so emotionally scarred.

Favorite NoBake Homemade Granola Bars. These are pretty darn delicious, and the great thing about them is that you can cater them to your unique taste buds. YAY!
Nutella Hot Chocolate. Your taste buds will thank you, trust me. I do however think you should do more Nutella than cocoa powder because the cocoa is so darn bitter.
Caramel Apple Slices. DE.LICIOUS.
Easy 30 Minute Stovetop Mac n' Cheese. Pretty easy and so much better than the boxed stuff. Really anything can beat the boxed stuff.
Chocolate Whipped Cream, Cream Cheese Frosting. Pretty delicious frosting.
Chocolate Almond Butter Fruit Dip. Really really good fruit dip. You just need the right fruit to dip into it.
Grilled Peaches and Ice Cream. My two favorite things, combined. I was in heaven.
Italian Hot Chocolate. Good, but those Europeans, they like straight up melted chocolate.
Bacon and Pea Macaroni and Cheese. This is where I learned my distaste for peas. Everything else, though, is pretty good.
Peppermint Ice Cream and Affogato. DE.LICIOUS.
Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato Grilled Cheese. So so so so so so good. Better than good, one of the best dressed up grilled cheese!!
Dutch Babies. Basically a german pancake, I believe. Mine, however, turned out more dense, so I was disappointed.
1 Hour Cinnamon Rolls. Again, I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon rolls, but for whatever reason I make them. These turned out the best for sticking together after I rolled them up, so they get an A+ from me.
Poke Turtle Brownies. DE.LICIOUS. And easy!!
Fried Green Beans. Want your family to eat their greens, fry em. Because they are darn delicious, I might create my own holiday so that I can eat them again.
Slow Cooker Creamy Tortellini Soup. You are about to take your taste buds on the adventure of their existence.
May your eyes and stomachs be fed.
