This weekend has been a silver lining in my cloudy days. I've been struggling for so long for so many reasons. Here's a metaphor for you; Imagine you are hiking and you have exertional asthma, so your breathing is heavy and wheezy. Then once you're finished you are able to drink water and relax your sore muscles. This weekend was like that refreshing drink of water, much needed.
I got to talk to my parents for one thing, and it was just so nice and not as stressful as it had been in the past because we didn't focus on my struggles for the whole time. I also walked to this beautiful temple that you see pictured, and I made a decision to try to go as often as I can, so at least once a week. Reminders would be appreciated, but not absolutely needed. Then I walked home from BYU campus with my sister and friend and it started pouring rain, and I LOVED it! I got absolutely soaked, and just felt so at ease and joyful and just in the moment.
And to top it all off, my Singles Ward Relief Society went to one of the Bishopric's cabin! The cabin was located in the American Fork Canyon, and the drive was stunning, taken right out of the art history books I tell you! The cabin was very homey, cozy, and had a very divine and spiritual sense to it. It was very special. I'm just constantly reminded of much I need nature and relaxation in my life, and I got it this weekend, and I am so beyond grateful.
All in all, I've seen so many little special blessings in such a short time, and I don't want to take any of it for granted. When you think that God isn't there and watching over you as much, or is just watching you struggle. He's there, and he follows his own timing, which may not make much sense to us, but you sure will understand it later, and it's all the better once you do.
Get outdoors,
Mercedes
