It's been a while and loads has happened. I have a job and I am no longer stressed and let me tell you it feels so good! No more weight on my shoulders, and I can breathe and stay happy for as long as I want!
I now want to update you on the progress of one of my goals, and then talk a little about goals in general.
Books:
Swan: The Life and Dance of Anna Pavlova by Laurel Snyder. This picture book is beautiful, I say that with many, but seriously my inner 5-year-old wannabe ballerina came out while reading this. Going down in picture book history!
The Perfectly Imperfect Home: How to Decorate and Live Well by Deborah Needleman. I enjoy a good design book, and this satisfied me. That's about as much as I've got right now.
Spork by Kyo Maclear. A cute little book about finding your strength and that your uniqueness is what makes you, you.
This Is Sadie by Sara O'Leary. A-Dorable. Did not remind me of any other picture book and I loved that!
Grumpy Pants by Claire Messer. It's got penguins. It's got rain. It's got a little attitude. So of course, I loved it!
Julia, Child by Kyo Maclear. A book about Julia Child and it was fantastic! Such a pretty book!
Design Mom: A Room-By-Room Guide to Living Well with Kids by Gabrielle Stanley Blair. Alright, definitely not my favorite, but at least worth one read. I don't tend to love books by bloggers.
Audrey and Givenchy: A Fashion Love Affair by Cindy De La Hoz. Honestly, I skimmed this book, but hey I just need to read a book if it mentions Audrey. It's honestly a weakness, cause how much can you learn about a person?
As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales From the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes. Skimmed this too, but hey, there's some pretty interesting facts in here.
Then Come Back: The Lost Neruda Poems by Pablo Neruda. I've hit an interest in poems, and I thought these were splendid. Poetry has a calming affect on me.
Felicity by Mary Oliver. Loved loved loved these poems!!!
Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook by Rachel Khoo. One timer for me. And the recipes I would probably never cook because they honestly don't sound or look that great to me.
A Wilder Life: A Season-By-Season Guide to Getting in Touch with Nature by Celestine Maddy. I love this book and would own it. I honestly love learning about nature and such things, I get it from my mother. Not that I have a green thumb or anything, it's just beyond interesting!
There is A Tribe of Kids by Lane Smith. So cute and fun. A childrens book that actually teaches you something besides morals!
Ellie by Mike Wu. So cute! Elephants and painting and zoo's! Absolutely loved it!
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. These poems struck a chord in me, and intrigued me. Like I said, I'm becoming more and more interested in poems.
One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories by B.J. Novak. Short stories, some inappropriate, and I definitely didn't read them all because not every short story sounds interesting to me.
The Beekeepers Bible: Bee's, Honey, Recipes, and Others by Richard A. Jones. I love learning as much as I can about beekeeping because I hope to do it one day, and this book is the jackpot!
Flora and the Peacocks by Molly Idle. Loved this more than the other two by Molly. Peacocks are so fun and this is just an absolutely dream of a book!
I am so close to finishing this goal and I am so excited to share with you what my all time favorites were! Creating these two goals has really impacted my life in a somewhat small way. I have gained such an appreciation for goals, and hope to continue creating goals for the rest of my days. I am gaining a passion for goals and I love it!!
I'll be back soon with more updates on my goals,
With love,
Mercedes
