This has been my hair as of late |
Recipes I've made: Grilled Chicken Tacos with Spiced Mayo and Avocado Salsa. I don't normally enjoy tacos, but man were these delicious, I especially enjoyed it because it was chicken.
Homemade Bread
Easy Lemon Chicken. Not so easy as when I "thought" they were done they were raw, so I popped them in the microwave, and have been nervous about cooking chicken ever since.
A made-up Trifle. There was really no recipe I followed.
Orange Sweet Rolls. They were difficult, and they didn't turn out at all how I expected them to, but pretty good none the less.
Bacon Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken. Again I was worried about if they would turn out raw or not. Delicious though.
20 Minute Cherry Tomato & Basil Pasta. Actually pretty dry, by the time I got it all mixed the pasta was dry. I recommend making a sauce of sorts.
Lemon Sandwich Cookies. Easy to make and pretty tasty, if you like lemon.
Honey Garlic Chicken. Also worried about raw chicken, but sooo good!
Raspberry Almond Scones with an Almond Glaze. So delicious and very easy to make, though it doesn't make a lot. I used sour cream in place of half & half / heavy whipping cream.
Pomegranate Scones. Just delicious as the recipe above. Again I used sour cream.
Books I've read: The Dark by Lemony Snicker. It was an adorable children book about the fear of darkness.
This Moose Belongs To Me by Oliver Jeffers. Another adorable and humorous children's book.
Consider the Blessings by Thomas S. Monson. A great read when wondering what you can do to serve others.
The Travel Book by Roz Hopkins. I didn't actually read all of it, but it was very interesting to learn about so many different places and when the best times to go to them are.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaffer. This wasn't very enjoyable for me to read. It was just not engaging enough, I could only read small amounts of it at a time.
Good Stuff; A reminiscence of my father Cary Grant by Jennifer Grant. Interesting to learn about a classic, timeless Icon from a different point of view.
Now my ideas, sorry for the forever long list. As some of you know, this year is my Golden Birthday. Meaning I turn 20 on the 20th day of the month. I'm so excited and have all sorts of ideas for the big day. Mostly what I've covered is that the color scheme is....you guessed it, Gold! I also will somehow make 1000 Gold Paper Cranes out of wrapping paper, I'm coming to terms with the fact that my hands will either be broken or bloody by the end of it, but I WILL have them.
So tune in as I cover all the details and excitement of planning something!
With love,
Mercedes
