Me Before You
It's that time again. The time when I review recent reads.
Domino: The Book of Decorating by Deborah Needleman. A design book and one that I absolutely loved! The designs on each chapter beginning were so beautiful!
Country Living American Style: Decorate, Create, Celebrate by Country Living Magazine. Another design book, as far as I can remember I enjoyed it.
Beautifully Small by Sara Emslie. Yet, another design book. Again, I remember enjoying it thoroughly.
Impressionism: 50 Paintings You Should Know by Ines Janet Engelmann. A fun read seeming, I enjoy impressionism and that there were painting in the book that I did not notice. Hurrah!
Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin. A book about getting rid of bad habits, and making new better ones. The problem I have with self help books, is that I have yet to read them when I actually need help.
The Crossroads of Should and Must by Elle Luna. Firstly, a quite delightful book to look at. Secondly, it's making me re-evaluate my life somewhat seriously. I would recommend it.
and finally, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. What a read. It reminded me of A Fault in Our Stars, but I enjoyed this book much more. Again, didn't cry a single tear, horrible I know. I enjoyed this slightly more because the characters were age wise, more mature. It was also, to me at least, more romantic. I in ways resonated with Louisa, the main character. Not that I have experienced everything she's gone through, especially when she's a fictional character, but there were moments when I totally understood. I did however force myself to finish this book, and I don't really like forcing myself to read a book. It should enrapture me, and feel easy to finish. One of the only reasons I did finish it was so that I could watch the movie prepared. Multiple f-bombs, just a fair warning. Talk of sex, but not descripted, thank goodness.
Enjoy!
