Risky Business

Dare Greatly

Why is it that we don't seem to take risks anymore? And when did we start thinking that risks have to be some big hullaballoo?

Lately, I've been debating doing something. I so badly want to, but I also want to avoid feeling embarrassed or  denied, so then I don't do this thing, and so I wrote about it in a personal journal, and in that journal I found another note to myself. It basically read that I should take risks, even if it will cause embarrassment, even I get a result I don't want. Life is short, let's live it to our fullest.

Basically, I am in awe of how you ask your questions and wonder, and not only can others give you answers, but your past self can too. Was it enough to get me to take the risk? I haven't figured that out yet. But it was enough to get me thinking, telling myself that I really have nothing to lose, so why not take the risk, huh?

I also just want to say that risks don't have to be skydiving or some other big thing. They can be applying to a job that you maybe don't have all the qualifications for, asking your crush on a date, speaking up about something, standing out in a crowd. Anything just take the stinking risk, because at least you now know how it feels, instead of always wondering what could happen. Every time you do this, you'll feel a little stronger, and it feels amazing.

So let's all take some risks this week. Okay? Big or small, let's all do something we've wanted to do but haven't.

Have a wonderful September Sunday!
