Advice To Myself

Our Fears Reveal What We Care About The Most

I feel myself getting into a rut of sadness, hopelessness, and ultimate pain. So today's post will be truthfully for me but if any of you get something from it as well, then it will have been my pleasure.

Your life is hard, harder than hard, and it may feel as if there is no coming back, but my dear, you'll get there. It's hard to get out of bed, to get dressed, which makes it even harder to leave the house. But I hope you can see that you are getting out of bed, and you are getting dressed, and because you are doing that, you'll be able to leave the house. I know that right now you're finding every excuse not to, but how about you find the reasons why you should. This is your favorite season, leaves are falling and changing colors! Exercise is good for you, so get out there and just walk. Sure, you might have the same thoughts you have whilst inside, but at least you'll feel productive.

Remember that there are people to talk to, so keep talking to them, and stop apologizing for wanting to talk to them. They are there for you, and you know how much you appreciate that, so allow them to be.

Take a break from technology, seriously at this point what good is it doing for you? All it is doing is helping you compare yourself to others, telling you that you need what you don't have, and reminding you of the pain that the world is going through. Yes, it's important to be aware of world events, but if that's all you're focused on, it's not doing you any favors. Start reading again, start using your camera to do what you love, write more handwritten letters to your sister. Start making and creating, start learning about so many things that will improve your brain rather than the opposite.

And I hope, and assume, that the more that you start doing this, the better you'll feel. You won't feel as scared, sad, and alone. And that's all we want.

With love,
Mercedes
